As for the story…I enjoyed it. And YES, I think it drug on for probably 50 pages more than it needed too. But in the end, I was stunned, happy, and pleased with what I had just spent a day and a half devouring. So what does this mean for YOU…the reader? Well, it means that this is a solid book.
Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. And that I really didn't like the name Luca at all but once I got to know him So, this is the story of Luca Minaldi and the family curse that haunts him and of Evangeline Eva who will stop at nothing to save him.
The beginning of this book was very powerful and I couldn't put it down - Luca had a presence that seemed to come off the page and the whole time I was feeling this was going into the paranormal and then to find out Kind of disappointed me and when I found out what the curse was, well, I didn't really like it because it didn't seem plausible that it could have been going on for generations. Believing the unbelievable is just so much easier when it's paranormal.
That was when the story kind of lost it's mojo for me. It was at the end, when the bombshell was dropped, that my heart started pumping again and I couldn't read it fast enough. In the first half, there was more than once that with the information given, I couldn t figure out how it could end happily. I just couldn't get into the story at all. I wanted to like it but I had it figured out about a quarter of the way in and then it just didn't do anything for me. In short, I didn't much like it.
