While securely supporting the muffler, remove the muffler mount bolt and carefully remove stock muffler assembly. Remove stock exhaust gasket as it will not be used with the Yoshimura system. Loki08 Registered. I think the TRC and the R77 sound very similar. The R22 sounds a bit more metallic. I went with the R77 because if fit the bikes lines better, in my opinion.
And I got a smokin deal on them. Just my opinion though. I have the R22 full system which is single sided. I think it is a matter of personal choice as far as selection goes. I would have went with the R77 but I have chrome and thought the R22 was the way to go.

As far as power is concerned, it seems as though there's a slight increase throughout the rev range.

I made the mistake of buying the single R77 single side kit before I heard them Alternatively, I have a friend who can weld stainless pretty damn well if need be. However, I really want to avoid the possibility of destroying the exhaust with a botched job though.
It's also down time from the bike while the job is done and it's my main mode of transport. Edit: I ended up just doing it.
It works great! I'm sure the sensor should be in the exhaust stream but for my purposes it appears to tune just fine. I'm not racing this thing, I take it to work daily, to get groceries, and on weekend rides. I know ideally I'd do it the "right" way - but this set up works beautifully.
