If a policy runs on login, the users would never get it applied, or only applied after several logins. I was of the understanding that policy preferences did not require to run at login and would run during any of the other assume post login runs of GP. Hello, sorry for the late reply. The delay was because the user had to take backup of the offline files.

I edited the host file and added the current file server IP address and hostname of the old file server. The sync center showed the path, that means sync center connected the offline files to current file server.

However after sometime the sync will fail. Maybe due to its trying to sync one year offline data. I'll post back on any further update. The amount of data to sync definitely can be an issue, it just takes more time and also is prone to error due to network latency when doing it remote. For testing purpose, I would create a new folder with a few files, access it with the computer with the issue, and establish the Off Line availability, if this works, you have a path to get it back to work, but again, the old server name pointing to the new server's IP may not do the trick, Kerberos may be the issue, different server, different security.

Hello, The sync has seemed to work. The user will confirm again. So I'll post again when all is OK. Get answers from your peers along with millions of IT pros who visit Spiceworks.

On Sync Center the Manage offline files shows nothing or empty. I'm trying to figure how to sync the offline files to the file server share folder. Popular Topics in Windows Spiceworks Help Desk. The help desk software for IT.
